Hal Hiatt, Senior PastorPastor Hal began serving at FBC Carolina Beach in May of 2016. He is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Sherrie serves as our Worship Coordinator and holds a BA Degree in Sacred Music from Gardner Webb University. The Hiatts have three happily married daughters and 7 beautiful Grandchildren.
Hal and Sherrie are native North Carolinians and have served in Ministry for 38 years in Texas, Florida and North Carolina. |

Gabe Waters, Youth PastorPastor Gabe and Ally moved to Carolina beach in 2019. Gabe got his undergraduate degree at Liberty University and his masters degree at University of the Cumberland's. His wife Ally works as a first grade teacher at the International School at Gregory and they have one daughter named Rosie.

Tyler Simmons, Pastor of Evangelism & OutreachPastor Tyler and his wife Heather have been together since 2003 and began praying about serving our island on their honeymoon in 2009. Since then Tyler finished his undergraduate work at Regent University and then graduate work at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Tyler has served pastorally at churches in Virginia, and Texas. They have four little kids: Ava, Leo, Josie, and Ellie. Tyler loves working on cars, playing disk golf, and chatting it up on the beach until the other person taps out.

First Baptist's pianist is Betty Rowe, another long time staff member of the church. Betty's talent and expertise is a joy to behold!
