The Simmons Family

Tyler Simmons
​Senior Pastor

Pastor Tyler and his wife Heather have been together since 2003 and began praying about serving our island on their honeymoon in 2009. Since then, Tyler finished his undergraduate work at Regent University and then graduate work at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Tyler has served pastorally at churches in Virginia, and Texas, and started here at First Baptist January 2022 as the Pastor of Evangelism and Outreach. In February 2025 Tyler was called to serve here as the Senior Pastor. They have five kids: Ava, Leo, Josie, Ellie, and Max. When Tyler isn’t in his study, out meeting with people, with his bride or wrangling kids, you can find him on the beach, enjoying the cinema, or reminiscing about days of wrenching on cars and motorcycles.

Betty Rowe, Pianist

First Baptist's pianist is Betty Rowe, another long time staff member of the church. Betty's talent and expertise is a joy to behold!

First Baptist's Praise Team is pictured here. It has grown over the past few years, and now does an excellent job at leading us in Worship each week.
